THE FIRST ON THE ITINERARY OF 2018 FOR CLUB 12/68 LUNCH AT THE RESTORAN SELESA D’MASS IN TAMAN MELAWATI

It was a nice setting for the start of our 50th anniversary. Lunch gathering for our squads. Prior to that there were concerted efforts made by the committee to get maximum attendance for our first on our itinerary of the year.
It’s a 12.00 noon RV.

Soon the room reserved for us started filling in. The  List numbered 36 and it included :
a.    Pete Aziz Iskandar.- Rome.
b.    Tairobi Razak. – Banting.
c.    Yusof Jaafar. – Bandar Bera.
d.    KL Goh. – Singapore or Batam.
e.    Amar Kumar Choudhury. KL
f.    Abu Bakar Suman. KL.
g.    Tan Ba Too – Rocky. KL
h.    Khalid Othman. KL.
i.    Chee Eng Boon. KL
j.    KD Richard. KL

We started at about 12.30 pm  with a speech by the Chairman of the Organising Committee.
 
 Hashim Yahaya. He also announced the tentative programme which we  have agreed for the whole year. The President in his speech expressed his happiness of the many that came for the lunch.

 

 He expressed the squads stand of being equal as a ‘ band of brothers’.He also hoped the respond would be just as good for the other programmes in the itinerary.
We took the opportunity to celebrate some of the birthdays celebrated for the month of January and February. A cake was brought out.

 For purposes of deception only 7 candles were lighted. A birthday song was sung.

 

The birtday boys blew the candles and we started lunch. A good spread of asam  pedas, lemak labu, ayam goring and ulam.

 

We were noisy.
 
 And what can be expected of friends who have been together since 1968 and not met for a long long time. There were lots of catching up to do

Most were comparing the number of cucus in the roost. None heard of additional ‘cawangan’ or ‘branch’. So we are alright there.
We had our group photograph taken.

And soon we had to take leave of each other with promises of catching up with each other soon..
The COC is hoping that for all our programmes there would be maximum participation.
