MOHD YUSOF MOHD NOOR’S WEDDING RECEPTION – 06 OCTOBER 2013

It was at the Banquet Hall of the Royal Lake Club.

Decorated and arranged to cater for the guests invited. It was sweetly ‘touched’ to exude a romantic evening for the newly wed. Yusof & Dayang Atikah arrived at about 8.30. There was a selawat. Both of them resplendent in baju Melayu entered the hall to hugh applause and photo shots from all angles. After the ‘clamours’ they proceeded to the High Table.

Guests were already there. A Doa Selamat was recited. For Love, For Happiness and an Everlasting Union. Soon we started dinner.

Another delicious spread. This time by Lake Club. We were entertained to music by musicians selected by the groom and they played beautiful music, commensurating with the occasion. A speech followed.

By the president of Club 12/68 Mej Ismail Ahmad (B) who spoke on behalf of Yusof and Dayang. Ismail followed his speech with a song.

A melodious rendition of P Ramlee’s ‘Tunggu Sekejap’.

The pengantin took time to meet everybody. It was all pleasantries.

There were lots of smiles, laughter, hugs and handshakes. Yusof was all smiles. Happy to be a husband. Happy to have a life partner. And happy to end ‘Lonely Nights’.

We wish him the very best for the Future. Insyaallah he would be Happy.

Salam.

YUSOF MOHD NOR’S WEDDING

It was an SMS on 11 Sep 2013 and reads ‘ Mej (B) Mohd Yusof bin Mohd Noor and Dayang Atikah binti Husin cordially invites SQUAD 12/68 and SPOUSE to our Wedding Reception on Sunday 6th October 2013 at 8.00 pm at the Banquet Hall Royal Lake Club, Taman Perdana, Kuala Lumpur. There was another invitation. The Akad Nikah would be in the morning of the same day at Masjid Al Falah in Subang Jaya.
At last our youngest brother who has been single ‘for dono how many years’ has decided to tie the knot again. We were all so very happy. Apparently some of the squad mates were involved especially our Club Secretary Bakar Baba (Burn). The President extended his ‘support’ by giving advise and directing other squad mates on things to do – to ensure that Yusof gets a proper send-off from his ‘bachelor’s life’.

At Masjid Al Falah, Yusof resplendent in his white baju melayu ‘menerima nikah nya Atikah binti Husin
dengan mas kahwin 300 ringgit’. He did his sunat prayers of dua rakaat subsequent to that. There were tears in his eyes. Tears of joy, relief? Only with him. He is now a a husband to new person in his life ‘Atikah’.
Those who attended were also touched by the conclusion to a long running effort by a lot of people to match Yusof with ‘somebody’.
We then adjourned for lunch in the masjid’s Dining Area.

We enjoyed a delicious meal of nasi ‘beriani’. All too soon we had to depart to prepare for the next event. The Reception.
Salam.

This was us earlier – in 2011

. We were the champions in 2011

 and 2nd for 2012 .

We aspired to be the champ again for 2013.

The competition was held at the Staffield Country Resort on 26 Sep 2013. In all there were 110 golfers from the 3 services. 12 teams participated in the Inter-Service/Corps/Regiment Team Competition (6 from TD; 3 from TLDM and 3 from TUDM). 9 teams participated in the Inter-Intake Team Competition (4 from the Regular intakes and 5 from the SSC intakes).
Club 1268 participated with 8 golfers. A and B Team. The team put on our Callaway light blue T shirts. Our uniform for the day. As usual we were all in high spirit of recapturing the past glory.
Musa Mustakim was there to play. We thought this was our year.
Our prep includes a practice round a week before. Ramli Harun was magnificent on that day. After the battles on 26 Sep, only some of us managed to be called on the stage namely:
a.    The Presidente getting runner up prize in C Division. He also achieved an Eagle on par 5 Hole 10. His second eagle of his 8 years golfing life. Congrats Mr President.
b.    Isa Hassan getting a Nearest to the Line on Western Nine.
c.    Marzuki Andong getting Runner Up in the B Division.
d.    Overall our A Team came in Runner Up for the Piala Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Hamid.
Looks like we have to go back to the drawing board to make another headway for the coveted trophy. And we have one year to work on it.
Salam and Warmest Regards

ps:Our club's Annual Gathering was mentioned in RAFOC's website at www.rafoc.org.my. Got to the segment on Intake. We should be there.
