Visit to the Damnoensaduak Floating Market.
This is the World Famous Floating Market. Many versions were disseminated. That the markets would be on water. Another was that we need to be on the long-shafts OBM kind of boats. And another was that we could walk on planks jetties and walk through the market. On getting there we found that the markets were on land along waterways. We need to be on boats to look through the wares.

A tight squeeze most of the time. An eye-openner and an exquisite experience. Not much was bought though.
We had lunch at one of the restaurants

next to the Elephant Team Park. It was a bit different then the one in Chiengmai.
This time they enacted lots of war scenario with arty fires and firing of bows and arrows. The Bad against the Good. Elephants were in abundance. A football shoot into the goalpost were also included.
Finally the elephants lined up to be ‘gifted’ with food sold at 30 baht a bunch.

A crocodile show was next on the itinerary.

The Siam Nirawit Tours
The next event was a visit to the Siam Nirawit Tours, which is a cultural show. Its done in a spacious hall, well cooled. Seats were numbered. Declining too. It was an entertaining show of 2 hours. Lots of performers. Lots of lights. And lots of imaginary technology. A very impressive show. Well-patronised by tourists especially.
It was then back to bed for a well-earned rest.

CLUB 12/68 ANNUAL REUNION IN BANGKOK 23 – 27 SEPTEMBER 2017 DAY 1 – 23RD September 2017.

Our flight was on Thai Airways departing KLIA at 0810 hrs. Just to be sure nobody miss the flight a few of us especially the Chairman made calls as early as 0400 hrs to nudge deep sleepers to get up and be at the airport between 0500 – 0600.
Soon we were at KLIA, busy organising ourselves for the onward flight to Bangkok.

Thanks to the Tour Operator prior arrangements we were able to check in collectively and make our way to the international departure. Some has already gone earlier to catch up on a much needed breakfast. All were flying that morning except Johnny Loo (from Hong Kong) and Fareed ABK and wife, Sharifah Murshidah who would be joining us later. It was a 3 hour flight with us gaining one hour to Thailand. And we arrived at about 1030 hr local time.

We went to a local restaurant for early lunch, then proceed for a city tour. The initial plan to an open market was aborted but we went to a local shopping mall. From there we proceeded to our hotel – the RAMADA D MA. Not much hassle there. Everybody got a room. Once checked-in and about an hour of rest, we proceeded for a cruise on the Chao Praya known as the Chaopraya Princess.

It’s a spacious ship, all done up for the guests. The table and sitting arrangements were structured to ensure, guests enjoy the cruise with ample vantage points to absorp the scenes along the river. The food spread was enormous.

There was a continuos supply of food ranging from Western, Japanese, Thais and Asian delicacy.

And there were  music rendered by an entertaining lady singer. Our group joined in the fun of dancing along.
It was a good 3 hours of fund and laughter. And Food.
Soon we had to berth at the jetty for our trip to the hotel and a well-deserved rest. For Day 1 – we were on the move from about 0400 hours and lasted till 2359 hours. Whew a long day indeed.
Good Night Squads.
